Information for vets

Canine Bowen Therapy

Canine Bowen Therapy is regarded as a manipulative therapy and is regulated by the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015 of the 1966 Veterinary Surgeons Act. This allows qualified Canine Bowen Practitioners to use the technique provided that the dog has been seen by a vet who has given consent for this. Practitioners of Canine Bowen Therapy use this modality as a complementary therapy, i.e. in conjunction with, not as an alternative to, proper veterinary care. Under no circumstances do we prescribe or alter any medication.

As a full member of the Canine Bowen Technique Association, I hold professional indemnity insurance to treat dogs, and I am more than happy to forward you a copy of my insurance certificate on request.
